Indies are the cornerstones of our communities, and without them our neighbourhoods would be a far less social and enriching place to live. Covid-19 is having a detrimental effect on these businesses and how they run, however one of the awesome things about great local businesses is that they can adjust their offer very quickly. Many Oxford restaurants, cafes and bars are offering gift vouchers to spend later, while a whole host of businesses are offering local contactless delivery.

We’ve put together a list of what indies are currently offering, so we can support the local businesses we love through the lockdown. >>

I’m really passionate about Independent Oxford and supporting and promoting independent businesses in Oxfordshire. Indie businesses are the life blood of our towns, cities and communities, but they need support to survive and thrive. Creating a network that provides a space for indies to find peer support, knowledge and information is so important, and means businesses are far more likely to continue. Supporting indies means a stronger local economy and a closer, inclusive community for all.
