Payne & Son is an historic family jewellers & silversmiths that specialises in selling gold, platinum & silver jewellery, gem set jewellery and silver items. The business was established in 1790 in Wallingford and has had a presence on Oxford’s High St. since 1889, run by the same family (currently 8th generation).

Working with rare and unusual gemstones, jewellery & silverware that has been expertly crafted using very unique & skilled craftsmanship. Payne & Son is my go-to jeweller in Oxford… and I am told that my grandparents shopped there too (as I’m Oxfordshire born & raised). My first Christmas gift from my husband when we’d just met in 2015 (a gold & peridot necklace) was from there, they then resized my engagement ring in 2017, and in 2018 we returned to get our wedding rings! More recently they’ve also resized & reset a ring from my grandmother. They are always so friendly, provide excellent customer service, and I just love their historic & traditional shop on the High Street!
