Indie Events in Oxford: September 2024
And just like that, autumn is on the horizon.
As normal routines resume and holiday blues set in, a lot is going on in September to keep you entertained!
Here’s Independent Oxford’s top tips for things to do in Oxfordshire this September. >>
The theme is ‘Our Nature Our Future.’ This vibrant community event will be back on the streets with plans including the iconic Cowley Road procession, Eco Floats, Street Parties, and House Floats introduced in 2021 (the first of their kind). There will also be workshops for individuals and community groups to make their own Carnival costumes and the opportunity to take part in the procession.

OFFBEAT FESTIVAL
Offbeat is Oxford’s festival of local voices, new talent, and limitless creativity!
This festival is an exciting artistic partnership between three Oxford theatres: the Old Fire Station, Oxford Playhouse, and New Theatre Oxford.
Offbeat has a wide range of exciting performances, late-night open mic events, interactive arts and crafts activities, and family-friendly events.
Monday 9th – Sunday 15th September
Artist Jayne Dent delights in experimenting with songwriting and storytelling, creating a beguiling mix of soaring vocals and atmospheric electronics that playfully push the boundaries of genre. This is not to be missed!

THE TIGER LILLIES
Make sure to catch The Tiger Lillies at The North Wall Arts Centre. On their ‘The Nihilism Tour,’ they will present a new show, themed ‘The Meaninglessness and Absurdity of Existence.’ Secure your spot before tickets sell out!

LIVE LOCAL MUSIC AT TAP SOCIAL
Tap Social is hosting Tad Live’s monthly night of local music that is filmed and streamed in front of a live audience.
This September, you can catch Emma Hunter, Barricane, and Pandapopalypse for a lively experience.

BULLET JOURNAL CLUB
Jessie’s Art Shed is hosting a Bullet Journal Club to inspire you to start creating your own bullet/ gratitude journal. Expect tons of ideas and support if needed.
