The North Wall brings together artists and audiences from Oxford to make, share and access art of the highest quality. Since opening in 2007, the venue has become renowned as an innovative arts centre for Oxford and beyond. The North Wall’s vibrant events programme attracts over 30,000 visitors a year to more than 100 performances and exhibitions.
Through its ArtsLab programme,The North Wall supports artists from across the UK through residencies and mentorship. Its participation programme encourages young people and communities to create and participate, forging long-term partnerships with local schools and community groups, co-creating projects for all ages that bring together people from different cultural and social backgrounds, fostering new relationships through creativity.
As an arts centre, we’re all about bringing people together to share stories – stories that are very personal, stories about universal truths, or perhaps stories that are completely fantastical. What makes being in Oxford so brilliant is that it’s a city of stories – it’s got a rich cultural history and it’s also a city where people come from all around the world to live, work, study, and seek sanctuary – and they bring their stories with them.
