ABOUT

Sarah Wiseman Gallery is an independent art gallery representing around fifty artists and makers who are UK based. The gallery is open six days a week, open to anyone who wants to come and see or buy the artworks. Sarah and the team represent artists on an ongoing basis, but also organise group, themed exhibitions and solo shows throughout the year.

Read all about the history of the gallery in the Indie Oxford interview with Sarah on the blog.

She also chats to Rosie on IGTV about reopening in July 2020 and about the journey of setting up her own gallery at 24 on S2 E9 of the Independent Oxford podcast.

Sarah Wiseman Gallery Oxford

I’m so proud of the variety of artists and exhibitions we’ve built over the last nearly twenty-five years. We focus primarily on contemporary painting, but I also have a keen interest in contemporary craft and we exhibit some special makers working in glass and ceramic too. We’re interested in representing original voices in contemporary art that resonate with us and our customers as well.

We are proud to ship artworks all over the world, as well as serving our local community and clientele. We aim to enthuse everyone about contemporary art and we are always keen to welcome visitors to the gallery; each team member has a special area of interest, with around sixty years combined experience of working in the visual art world!

– Sarah Wiseman, Founder & Owner

The Sarah Wiseman Gallery is a wonderful oasis in the heart of Summertown. Sarah’s eye for curating inspiring exhibitions is exceptional, and there’s always something new to see. Sarah and the team are always so welcoming so do stop by if you’re in north Oxford.
