I’m so excited that Spring is finally here, and despite the fact that this year seems to be flying by again, let’s get into all the exciting events our indies have going on for you this April.

Sake and Comfort Food: A Revelation

Interested in a Sake tasting?

Sake Educator, Sarah Stewart, is hosting a session at POPINA by Lynrace for a culinary extravaganza. This will involve pairing 6 premium sakes with the food you’d most associate with an evening at home. Tickets are £45 per person.

Creating an image using Collage

Get creative this April.

Hosted at The Cluster, join Lorraine Berkshire-Roe for chapter 4 of her Sketchbook Journal Workshops. You will experiment with making an image or picture from magazine pages, and a selection of interesting art papers and other 2D material to produce a new image.

Caper

Art Making & Story Time

Explore colour, paint, and printing to create a creative artwork.

Caper is hosting an art session for toddlers and parents, designed to encourage creativity (for ages 2-5). This will be led by Tereza Horáček, a local artist and experienced art teacher. Tickets are £9 and grant admission for both a child and their accompanying adult.

The Midnight Market

New event from Tap Social Movement.

This Midnight Market is jam-packed with local artists, artisans, and crafty folk, but instead of hosting a traditional early-morning market, it’s a night out. Expect DJs, music, freshly fired sourdough pizza, award-winning beers, and cocktails. Shop in style whilst enjoying your evening.

Indie Oxford Hospitality and Food & Drink Meet Up

Join us and other hospitality and food & drink businesses for a meet-up to share wins and challenges with other indie businesses.

You’ll find a warm welcome, peer support, and a community of other indies in the sector. This meet-up is at the Waste2Taste cafe, where Sandra will be looking after us with delicious cakes and hot drinks.

Looking for something different to do on a Sunday in Oxford?

Join Spiced Roots for Soca Sunday, a monthly Caribbean day party bringing together music, food, and culture in a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere. This event celebrates the sounds and energy of the Caribbean with DJs Ovaproof and Hotstepper, alongside special guest selectors.

Helena Clews: From Seascape to Landscape

 New exhibition at The North Wall Arts Centre.

This exhibition presents a new collection that brings together the familiar landscapes of Oxfordshire with the dramatic coastline of Devon, returning her work to where her artistic journey first began. Helena’s paintings explore colour, line and texture, drawing inspiration from the sea, light, and natural beauty of Devon.

Spring has arrived at LORDS Fragrance House.

They are hosting an Easter Egg hunt where a few eggstra special treats may just be hidden too. They will be open as normal from 10:00-17:30 and will be doing a little sip and shop session where you can grab everything you need for the perfect Easter tablescape.
