Food, festivals, art, Summer is in full swing

The Abingdon Distillery

The Abingdon Distillery bottle shop and tasting bar opens it’s doors on the 4th August, and Thursday-Saturday from 11am till 4pm everyone is welcome to head down and check it out.

To celebrate, they will be pouring £5 G&T’s & £5 Cherry Negronis, and they’re also offering 10% off their bottle shop for a limited time only. This event runs across 3 days, wrapping up on the 6th August at 4pm.

Flo’s invite you to their Summer Celebration on Friday 5th August. There will be delicious food and drink lined up: Make Pizzas with the Pizza Midwife, a Pop-Up restaurant by OCA, delicious food by Flo’s café, and Beer and Wine available. There will be a staffed Fire pit.

Along with a delicious line-up of food, there will be live music from a local ukulele group. Donations welcome to support the brilliant work of the OX4 Free Food Crew and Flo’s community projects.

Following the success of ‘The Painted Garden’, Fletcher Prentice are presenting a new collection celebrating the vibrancy and energy of a summer garden, at the Sarah Wiseman Gallery. This exhibition is currently open 10:00am – 5:30pm, ending on 6th August.

This new collection; The Artist Gardener returns the garden as a creative, expressive space, exploring the enduring influence of horticulture and gardening on visual art. Free entry.

Treehouse Festival Oxfordshire World Wide Welshman 2021

Treehouse Festival returns this weekend, 29th to 31st July 2022, to it’s beautiful home under White Horse Hill near Uffington. Dance the weekend away, immerse yourself in nature and enjoy a Tap Social beer or two while your at it. Count Skylarkin returns to Oxford’s favourite warehouse brewery Tap Social Taproom with Aodhán Ó Lorcáin for Reggae Redemption, an event packed full of dynamite reggae, ska, soul, dancehall and beyond. Local ales by Tap Social as well as pop-up food vendors. Saturday 13th August 8pm. Entry is free.

Beer, Beats & BBQ

The Up In Arms have kicked off their summer of fun with their six Beer, Beats + BBQ parties that started last month, the next happening on Saturday 27th August.

These events promise great fun for the family with garden games, great food, live DJ’s all day and their all new Dodo Beer Box serving craft beer.

ALSO DON’T MISS The Up In Arms sister pub, The Rusty Bicycle’s Street Party this Saturday 30th July.

Change is Brewing

Tap Social Movement is proud to host the Change is Brewing Beer Fest at the Tap Social Taproom in the Curtis Industrial Estate on Sunday 28th August. They will be welcoming an incredibly diverse collection of 13 more breweries to Oxford, many of them for the very first time.

The Jam Factory Art Market

The Jam Factory Art Market takes place the last Sunday of every month 9:30 am – 4 pm. Head down on Sunday 31st July and 28th August.

There’ll be plenty of stall holders selling their fantastic wares and as well as the art they will be selling tea’s, coffees, breakfast and lunch. The Jam Factory will also be serving their seasonal drinks and a selection of cakes.

Indie Oxford Meet Up

If you miss the social side of working in an office, or like many indie business owners, have a team of one, then join this after work meet up to catch up with other Oxfordshire indies, share indie business experiences, plan projects, and enjoy a pizza and a pint at the White Rabbit in the centre of Oxford, on Thursday 4th August at 6pm.

This event is for Independent Oxford members.
