We’ve asked our restaurants, cafes, grocers and food producers to share some recipes with us to keep you eating delicious and seasonal food throughout lock-down.

First up are these mouthwatering tartine recipes from Pete and Vicki at 2 North Parade.

We’ve chosen three of our favourite seasonal tartines. They are quick and easy and celebrate the best local produce you can get right now. All these ingredients are available at 2 North Parade produce store. We hope you enjoy them! Pete and Vicki.

2 North Parade Strawberries
2 North Parade Oxford Radishes

Asparagus and fresh ewes cheese

Grill the asparagus with a little oil and salt until slightly charred.

Toast your sourdough bread and then top with fresh ewes cheese, add the asparagus, grated lemon zest and a drizzle of olive oil.

Serve warm!

Radish and fresh goats cheese

Put the radishes with the tops intact and sliced red onion on a baking tray with olive oil, salt and pepper then roast for 20 mins.

Toast your sourdough bread and top with Perroche goats cheese. Pile on the roasted radishes and onion and sprinkle on a few chopped chives.

For a vegan option you could use hummus instead of the cheeses.

Strawberries and ricotta

Spread Westcombe Ricotta on toasted sourdough, add sliced strawberries, a drizzle of local runny honey and a few mint leaves.

Serve and eat (read: devour!)

I’m really passionate about Independent Oxford and supporting and promoting independent businesses in Oxfordshire. Indie businesses are the life blood of our towns, cities and communities, but they need support to survive and thrive. Creating a network that provides a space for indies to find peer support, knowledge and information is so important, and means businesses are far more likely to continue. Supporting indies means a stronger local economy and a closer, inclusive community for all.
