ABOUT

Waterside Café is a hidden gem located at Farmoor Reservoir, offering visitors a warm and inviting atmosphere with unbeatable views of the water. Open daily, the café prides itself on serving high-quality, fresh ingredients, using local produce wherever possible. From Dark Horse Coffee and Mayfield Eggs to artisan bread and house-made cakes, every dish is crafted with care and local flavour.

While Waterside Café caters to the Sailing Club members, it also serves as a vibrant community hub, welcoming visitors, walkers, and families alike. Whether you’re stopping by for a morning coffee or a hearty lunch, you’ll find great food in a beautiful setting.

I may be biased, but in my opinion the views across the water here are the best in Oxford – gorgeous sunsets, sailboats, windsurfers and foilers gliding by. It’s a vibrant community that I’m honoured to be a part of. I’m excited to bring my love of baking to the cafe, using ingredients from local producers and suppliers that I admire. We will be keeping the essence of Roo’s Kitchen and continuing to produce beautiful and delicious bespoke celebration cakes and seasonal bakes from our new base at the reservoir. The Waterside Cafe is a very special place to me, with its incredible views, wonderful regulars, and chance to support small businesses in the area that I care deeply about.

Waterside Cafe is a great place to chill after a nice walk.

I genuinely love working with Waterside Café. The team are some of the warmest, most welcoming people you could meet, and that energy shapes everything about the place. The food is thoughtful, generous and consistently good, and the setting overlooking Farmoor Reservoir makes every visit feel like a reset. It is one of those rare spots where the views, the atmosphere and the people all match. You go for a coffee and end up staying longer than you planned, which says everything.
