Oxfordshire’s Indies offering Takeaway to keep our spirits up!
With Boris’ announcement yesterday that restaurants and pubs can open outside from 12th April and inside from 17th May, that still means we’ve got a good old wait until we can visit our favourite watering hole or eatery.
In the meantime, Oxfordshire’s independent restaurants, cafes and pubs are still offering a wonderful range of takeaways to give us our foodie fix and so we’ve rounded up a definitive list to getting takeaways for the next few months!
Gourdans
Pick up mouth-watering streak from this St Clements indie. Established and serving Steak Frites since 2015, you can also order raclette, smoked potatoes and charcuterie. Order directly Wed to Sat 5-9pm & collect for 10% off.
Tap Social’s The White House
Stop over at The White House on Abingdon Road to pick up a delicious sandwich or sweet treat from the Horsebox. Open everyday for coffee and cake or Friday, Sat and Sunday for lunches too.
Waste2Taste
Situated in Cowley, this super cafe not only produces a scrumptious weekly takeaway menu using surplus food, they also work with other local organisations to provide free meals to those in need. Tues, Wed and Thurs.
Pompette
Feeling fancy? Treat yourself to a takeaway from the always popular Pompette in Summertown. Their Pompette at Home menu is available for pre-order and collection on Fridays and Saturdays.
Colombia Coffee Roasters
The fab cafe and colourful farm shop is now doing pizza! Pick up some delicious stone baked goodness from their Summertown store – Fridays 5-8pm, Saturdays 12-8pm, Sundays 12-6pm
Hamblin Bread
Up the Iffley Road you’ll find Hamblin Bakery who can turn their delicious bread into a tasty sandwich for you. Click and collect Thu through to Sunday.
Watch out for their pizza nights too!
Mamma Mia
Seven days a week you can pick up authentic pizza and pasta from this ever popular South Parade indie. Whether you pick your favourite or feel like trying something different is up to you!
V-Giyan
With delivery across Oxfordshire, V-Giyan provide delicious, fresh, vegan Punjabi food – all ready to eat. It comes packed in bio-degradable or recyclable containers with an aim to be zero waste in the production.
The Jericho Cafe
A delicious range of breakfast options, lunch dishes, sweet treats and more. All to click and collect from this wonderful cafe on Walton Street.

The Oxfordshire Yeoman
Delicious pub grub for collection or delivery near Freeland. Each Friday they have a changing menu, Saturday it’s breakfast baps with locally sourced meat and brioche buns, and Sunday it’s a jam packed Sunday Roast.
Fallow and Fields
This event catering company in the picturesque Nuneham Courtenay has pivoted during lockdown to offer bountiful meal boxes from curry to movie night to roast in a box. All prepped ready for you to finish at home!
The Edge Eatery
Order a damn good brunch Tues-Sunday or one of their always popular burgers Thursday to Saturday evening from their new Witney Cafe. You can also get delicious sweet treats and coffee too!
