Oxfordshire’s Fit Farm Festival returns for second year
Fit Farm Festival, a unique family friendly festival that makes fitness fun and accessible, is returning to Oxfordshire for the second year in July.
Taking place on Saturday 2nd July at Collins Farm in Frilford from 10 am – 6 pm, the 2022 festival is set to be bigger and better than ever. Around 300 people are expected to attend and enjoy over 40 classes and workshops including yoga, Pilates, CrossFit, bootcamp, street dance, tyre flipping, HIIT, deadlifting and barre. The one-dayer will also include a kids zone, creative workshops, specialist talks, local food and drink suppliers, and massage.
The festival was set up by Alex & Ajaye at The Project PT and Leah at Fitness At The Farm, two female founded Oxfordshire fitness businesses, after they met during the pandemic and bonded over a shared passion for making fitness non-judgmental, sociable and open to all.
Leah Maclean who runs Fitness At The Farm, which has been based on Collins Farm for the last four years says –
“We wanted to bring people together and give them a chance to celebrate and try new things. Last year was a success, we had over 200 people come along and we are excited to build on that this year, which is set to be even better.
“We’re expecting all kinds of people at the festival, different ages, groups of friends and lots of families, especially as kids get to come for free. Lots of people come on their own too – around 30% of the people that come to our events come solo, and last year people met others with similar interests and had a great time together which is really what festivals are all about.”
Two large class areas will host yoga and strength-based sessions throughout the day, surrounded by workshops, stalls and an outdoor gym. The line-up is made up of exclusively Oxfordshire based small businesses including House of Fun, Grace and Gravity Studio, Priority 6, Vitality Vocals, Every Body Studio, Jacqueline Cross Photography, Barre Set, Step 2 Dance, Abi King Yoga, Self & Body Fitness, White Horse Box Pizza, Routes Coffee and Sunrise Shack.
Ajaye Hunn-Phillips co-founder of The Project PT says –
“We want to make people feel comfortable and welcome whether they see themselves as a person who’s ‘into fitness’ or not. The festival isn’t about being competitive or counting calories, but about trying new forms of movement, feeling strong and confident and having a good time.
“Exercise can make you feel great, but it can feel hard and scary to try new things. Lots of people worry that they don’t fit in at a gym or class, but everyone is welcome at the festival and there is movement for everyone – it’s just about finding what you love. The festival is a chance to experience something you’ve maybe never even considered and have a good time while you do it – and then maybe grab a pizza and a beer to enjoy in the sunshine afterwards.”

I really enjoyed Fit Farm Festival in 2021. The site is in beautiful Oxfordshire countryside, and there’s something so nourishing about practicing yoga outside. The energy and vibe is so uplifting and welcoming, I would be very happy to go solo and know I was still going to have a great time. I really enjoyed the creativity workshop and yoga with Every Body Studio, and The Project PT boxing if you need some ideas for what to book!
It’s great to have another awesome local indie festival in Oxfordshire, and that summer 2022 in the county is shaping up to be filled with fields of fun!
