Treehouse Festival of Human Connection
Today on the blog, I’m sharing some of the awesome photos Jason from Fyrefly Studios captured at this year’s Treehouse Festival of Music & Arts back in July. If you were lucky enough to attend this amazing festival, you’ll know about the incredibly beautiful site, what it was like being back in a field with 250 friendly and happy souls, how brilliant the line up of music and performance was, and all washed down with a Tap Social beer or two.
If you missed out on tickets (gold dust comes to mind!), well you’re in luck! Tom and the team are back this October with a special weekend all about connection, AND there’s a special discount for Indie Oxford readers! So without further a do, let’s have a look back at July’s festivities, and find out what’s in store this autumn down at Curtis’ Copse in South Oxfordshire. >>

Tom and Team Treehouse are so very excited to invite you back to Curtis’ Copse this October for the inaugural Treehouse Festival of Human Connection! In the afterglow of Treehouse 2021, they’re squeezing in one more festival before the end of 2021 and this one is going to be a little different.
The premise is simple: we’ve all had a really, really rubbish 18 months and many of us have been woefully starved of human connection, one of life’s basic necessities. The team plan to change that all in a single weekend of revelry, exploration and connection. Get ready for something different; this isn’t a festival as you know it, but boy is it going to be fun.

Background
Over the past 5 years, Treehouse Festival has brought together some of the most entertaining, enjoyable and talented bands the UK has to offer. However, it’s often not just the music that festival goers rave about about post-festival, it’s the people you meet and the moments that bring you together. Whether it’s through sharing a life-drawing session together, learning Acro Yoga or chatting in the bar tent, people mean everything. It all comes back to human connection.
Tom has been working on this idea for well over three years now and the moment is now. He’s been exploring the idea of the ‘Human Connection Collective’ as the original name and like the phoenix from the ashes, Treehouse Festival of Human Connection rises from the smouldering embers of a global pandemic just in time to catch the end of the summer sun.
We are facing a loneliness epidemic of untold proportions, with young adults facing the brunt of the isolation. Making new friends is tough at the best of times, let alone having spent 18 months actively socially distancing from others.

Whilst this all might sound a little ‘out-there’, especially if you’ve never made it to Treehouse to experience the magic for yourself. Rest assured, this isn’t going to be some hippie love-in with compulsory hand holding and group chanting around a low-carbon campfire. This event is designed for young and old professionals who simply work too hard and haven’t got the time to spend out in the big bad world making friends organically. You are invited to participate in as many of the workshops, experiences and activities as you feel comfortable. You are more than welcome to come along and find a comfy spot to curl up on a sofa by the fire and people watch.

What to expect
Imagine a festival where the lineup of bands is replaced with a lineup of inspiring workshops, activities and performances, all carefully curated to bring the same energy as the brilliant musical line up on the Treehouse stage. You can expect a central thread of impressive workshops, many of which could and do form a a standalone evening activity in their own right. An important aspect of Treehouse Festival of Human Connection is that after each workshop, you will be encouraged to stick around and chat with your fellow festival friends: this is a key part of the experience, as Tom and the team believe it is conversation over shared experiences that connection is built.
So far, you can expect the following:
Cacao Ceremony
Ecstatic Dance
Gong Bath
Drag Aerobics
Wim Hof Breathing
Life Drawing
Ceilidh
Party in your Pants
Intro to Shibari
Wood fired hot tubs
Sauna
Hula Hoop
Salsa Class
Acro Yoga

Alongside the central schedule will be a variety of ongoing activities and experiences designed to bring you closer to the people you have met at the festival. Without giving too much away, you can expect team scavenger hunts through the woods, flash mob weddings and answering the 36 Questions To Fall In Love.

The Treehouse Spa
Back by popular demand, the Treehouse Spa is expanding this year to include not one, but two wood fired hot tubs, as well as a brand new Sauna for 2021. The spa will be open throughout the weekend.

A Treehouse Festival 2021 review –
Festival with an amazing intimate vibe – there’s great music, but so much more! It was obvious that featuring local artists and inclusivity was a priority this year. Very much looking forward to the next installment!
– Anne Hedegaard
I can definitely second that! After a year of no festivals, stepping back into a field with lots of space, brilliant performances and lovely people, Treehouse was just the perfect place to do that, and I can’t wait to join Tom and the team in October!
Treehouse Festival of Human Connection runs from Friday 1st October to Sunday 3rd October at Curtis’ Copse, Uffington, Oxfordshire. Tickets will sell fast, so if you’d like to join the fun, head to Ticket Tailor at noon tomorrow and use INDIEOX to get a 5% discount.
