ABOUT

Named after the traditional Neapolitan amulet worn to bring good luck and prosperity and located at the centre of the historic Oxford Covered Market, Il Corno is a proudly family-owned food and beverages business with a mission: to bring local Neapolitan cuisine and culture from the bay of Naples to the heart of Oxford.

Originating from Naples’ tasty and genuine culinary tradition and its renowned customs of hospitality, Il Corno specialises in an iconic dish of Neapolitan street-food: panuozzi, a long and flat sandwich made from pizza dough filled with different ingredients, from mozzarella to friarielli broccoli, from provola to sausages. Il Corno also offers other unique Neapolitan products, including taralli, babà al rum, limoncello, and a delicious variety of Campania wines. Finally, Il Corno organises events throughout the year to promote Neapolitan culture, from talks from experts to creative writing sessions to tombola and Italian culture quiz nights.

What we love most about our business is the family that built it and the extended family that we have built through it. We call it Il Corno Family and it is made of all the people who are part of our little community, from customers to friends to staff members, and who, in different ways, keep it alive and thriving. Oxford is the most magical place to be in and start a business and every time we step into our little shop in the city’s historic Covered Market, we are filled with wonder and gratitude.
