10 Events from Oxford Indies this July 2020

 In Events

It’s been an up and down few weeks, particularly for independent businesses, following the re-opening of shops on the 15th June and the recent Government announcement regarding hospitality businesses. Part of it feels like things are “getting back to normal”, part of it doesn’t…

However, whether you’re someone who is keen to get out of the house or if you’re someone who for various reasons is staying in-in, we’ve got 10 cracking events from independents taking place this July.

Arts, Craft & Culture

4th July to 1st Aug: “Pool Party” Exhibition at Sarah Wiseman Gallery  – Take an actual trip to an actual gallery (now that we can!) and immerse yourself in “Pool Party” the summer exhibition at Sarah Wiseman Gallery, inspired by life at the poolside – whether that’s the urban glamour of Los Angeles or a local British lido.

2nd July: Open Stage Arts Virtual Monologue Meet Up – Over the course of lockdown, Claire of Open Stage Arts has been setting her students a challenge to source, rehearse and film a monologue, to initally be shared privately with the group.

4th July: Stone Set Metal Clay Rings Workshop or Beads with Beads Online Workshop – Join Amy Surman on her first courses for July. Delivered by Zoom, the first course is designed for people wanting to improve their Metal Clay skills, the second to get you working with round beads.

5th July: Virtual Cowley Road Carnival. A firm date in the Oxford event calendar, this year Cowley Road Carnival can’t take place on the road, so they are taking the festivities online. They want as many of you as possible to join them online where they will be streaming Carnival vibes straight to your home.

17th July: Jericho Comedy Drive In at The Oxford Artisan Distillery. Jericho Comedy present their drive in comedy club, a social distancing safe way to enjoy stand-up comedy like never before.
