Independent Oxford Christmas Market – Old Fire Station
We’re just a few days away from our 2016 Christmas Market and over the next couple of days we will be revealing our full line up for the event! Join us on Saturday 26th November for a jam packed day of festive delights from a whole host of local indies and designers. The market will be open from 10 am until 5 pm at both the Old Fire Station and Turl Street Kitchen. Check out our awesome curated collection of traders….it’s going to be epic! Modern calligraphy across a whole host of gorgeous gifts. Chat to Merrie about personalised stationery too!
Handmade by Holchester
Rachel makes handmade cushion covers, fabric wall art, banners, all with her signature style of patchwork (using remnant fabrics) and hand painted details. She will also be selling Create Craft Kits DIY Banner-making kits (a collaboration with Em Makes and Bakes).
Burrows & Hare
Ben will be on hand to help you with awesome gifts for the men in your life including accessories, fragrance and grooming products.
Fabulous Flowers
Matthew and Gary make all their Christmas wreaths and arrangements in their shops in Abingdon & Oxford. They love using lots of textural detail with berries, seeds, twigs and dried fruits. Find them at the Old Fire Station and place your Christmas wreath orders.
Sanders of Oxford

Karen Morecroft
Karen creates fine art prints (photography), prints, and art cards based on her central themes of landscape and architectural forms.
She will be joined by Sarah who will be selling handmade jewellery linking in with colour themes of Karen’s photos.
Cassiopeia Knit Designs
Maria creates colourful hand knitted and crocheted accessories to wear, as well as for the home.
Caroline Sanders
Caroline creates handmade lampshades, bags, purses, cushions and gifts made from gorgeous modern print fabrics.
Harriet Elkerton
Find handmade porcelain home wares inspired by function, with a pure minimalist aesthetic, glazed in glossy white.
Sit Upholstery
Charlotte is trained in modern and traditional upholstery techniques with a contemporary twist. Talk to her about commissions and reupholstering beloved items too.
Smoking Gun Vintage
Jess hails from West Oxfordshire and will be selling a handpicked collection of ladies vintage clothing and accessories from the 70s to the 90s.
The Basket Room
Handwoven, ethical baskets & bags made in Africa, the pieces make beautiful gifts and colourful accents for your home too.
The Hat Box
Gillian will be selling a selection of winter hats and accessories as well as colourful trilbies and berrets from her gorgeous shop in The Covered Market.
Workshops at the Old Fire Station
As well as our wonderful stalls we also have workshops and activities taking place through out the day at both venues.
Create Craft Kits
Ready-made mini cotton banners will be provided and participants will have time to decorate their banner from a variety of embellishments available. Embellishments will include sheet felt, buttons, thread and fabric scraps. Templates and examples will be available for participants to use to get inspiration from. Instructions on how to make the cotton banners will be provided for participants to take away with them, along with accessories to hang up their work. These banners make a great personalised Christmas present. Sign up for the class here for just £10.
