Get creative the Indie Oxford way…
You know it, we all know it – the next few months are going to be hectic! It’s that C.H.R.I.S.T.M.A.S thing rearing it’s head as you rush from one social engagement to another while frantically trying to get all of the present buying done in time.
This is where our Christmas Market workshops come in. Use them as time out for an hour or two and get absorbed in learning a new craft. Or kill two bird with one stone and use them to make someone a Christmas present. Here’s what’s on offer…
11am: Modern Calligraphy Workshop at the Old Fire Station with Merrie & Bright. £30. Click here to book.
A modern calligraphy workshop for beginners where you will learn everything you need to get started with beautiful hand-lettering. You will learn the basics of modern calligraphy and how to use a traditional dip pen and ink to create beautiful thin and thick strokes as an introduction to the alphabet. Make sure you also check out the Merrie & Bright stall in the main theatre at the Old Fire Station!

Join Oxford based florist Lucy Bartlett for this 2 hour workshop to learn how to make your own festive wreath using seasonal foliage and fragrant herbs. You’ll leave with a lovely wreath to kick-off the festive season and it’s a great
1pm: Make Your Own Mini Christmas Banner at the Old Fire Station with Create! by Simmonds and Holchester. £10. Click here to book.
Decorate a festive mini Christmas banner with a wide range of materials. This is suitable for all skill levels – if you’re not feeling creative, Rachel and Emma can help get the ideas going! A colourful collaboration between Oxfordshire based Handmade By Holchester and Em Makes and Bakes. 3.30pm: Painting & Gilding a Church Candlestick Workshop with the Annie Sloan Shop at Turl Street Kitchen. £35. Click here to book.
Join Chloe Horner from the Annie Sloan for a fantastic festive workshop! There will be a demonstration on how to use the paint if anyone hasn’t used it before, and plenty of time to personalise your own candlestick.
