Join us for a fascinating and look at the wines of Romania, Bulgaria and Georgia, and the women who make them. Bulgaria is at the forefront of gender equality in winemaking – around half of all Bulgarian wineries have female winemakers (compare this to the paltry 14% in California!). At this tasting, we will be celebrating these women as well as some of their neighbours in Romania and Georgia.

Georgi Panayotov of The Old Cellar will be taking us through six delicious wines over the course of the evening. A specialist in the wines of the Balkans who grew up in Bulgaria, Georgi is perfectly placed to introduce us to these wines. We’ll taste three reds and three whites, including familiar international grapes, as well as exciting indigenous varieties.
