Cranston Pickles was set up in 2018 by Oxford local Fiona Cranston, offering homemade, locally sourced pickled fruit & vegetables alongside free range pickled eggs. All her ingredients are sourced locally where possible, meaning that Fiona’s range is seasonal and constantly evolving.

Alongside pickles, Fiona also loves serving pickled street food out of her pickle van Patsy! However due to the current crisis, Fiona’s street food has been on hold, but no more! From this Friday, Fiona will be delivering her awesome pickled street food to your door for Friday lunch or dinner, within a 3 mile radius of her home in Horspath.

How It Works

Place your orders by emailing Fiona from Monday to 12 pm Wednesday for Friday delivery, either for lunch or dinner. If you live outside the 3 mile delivery area, you can arrange contactless collection.

Sustainability is at the heart of Cranston Pickles, and Fiona not only sources ingredients from local farms and markets, but also make sure no single use plastic is used in the business. All her take away dishes are made from scratch to avoid unnecessary packaging and to make sure it’s super tasty and nutritious, plus all packaging she uses is biodegradable or recyclable.

This week the produce is from Rectory Farm & Bonners in The Covered Market.

Once all the orders are in on Wednesday, Fiona will email you with an order confirmation, invoice with link to pay, and arrange delivery times. NHS workers get 10% off.

If you’re looking to top up your kitchen cupboard and fridge stores too, Fiona is currently delivery pickles in jars and scotch eggs on Saturdays. Check out her current pickles list, and this week’s scotch egg is her incredible kedgeree version (it’s awesome!). If you would like a Saturday scotch egg delivery, just email Fiona by Wednesday at 12 pm. Pickles are £5, pickled eggs are £10 and scotch eggs are £4 or if you order 3 or more they’re £3.50.

I’m really passionate about Independent Oxford and supporting and promoting independent businesses in Oxfordshire. Indie businesses are the life blood of our towns, cities and communities, but they need support to survive and thrive. Creating a network that provides a space for indies to find peer support, knowledge and information is so important, and means businesses are far more likely to continue. Supporting indies means a stronger local economy and a closer, inclusive community for all.
