Happy sunny Monday, and a gorgeous start to October in Oxford. We’re really excited about the month ahead with some wonderful independent events happening across Oxford.

Fair Trade St Michael’s are celebrating 15 years of their lovely shop on Cornmarket Street with a party for all at Tap Social on 21st October. It really is a challenging time to have an independent business, but it’s great to see that indies are still thriving across the city. Next month, Indigo on Cowley Road turns 10 so we’ll keep you updated with their celebration plans, but do pop in and check out their new look shop which is all ready for their birthday bash!

The more we all support our city’s independents, the more vibrant and remarkable our community becomes. So with that in mind, here are our top 10 independent events to check out this month.

I’m really passionate about Independent Oxford and supporting and promoting independent businesses in Oxfordshire. Indie businesses are the life blood of our towns, cities and communities, but they need support to survive and thrive. Creating a network that provides a space for indies to find peer support, knowledge and information is so important, and means businesses are far more likely to continue. Supporting indies means a stronger local economy and a closer, inclusive community for all.
