July was jam packed with great events and festivals around Oxfordshire. Cowley Carnival kicked off the month in it’s usual vibrant style, bringing together a fantastic mix of community groups and musical styles.

Alice’s Day saw loads of events across the city, including in The Covered Market, who celebrated the day with a treasure hunt in collaboration with The Story Museum. We launched our first downloadable map for the event too, which is available in our Independent Oxford shop.

The festival season continued with awesome events including Irregular Folks Summer Sessions and Truck Festival.

This month, we’re really looking forward to more awesome events around Oxfordshire including Wilderness, Towersey Festival and some great experiences at some of our favourite indies.

So, here’s our top 10 events for August!

The Valley Wilderness Festival
Magdalen Flea Market
Turl street kitchen Oxford
Truck Festival 2018
Tap Social Oxford

I’m really passionate about Independent Oxford and supporting and promoting independent businesses in Oxfordshire. Indie businesses are the life blood of our towns, cities and communities, but they need support to survive and thrive. Creating a network that provides a space for indies to find peer support, knowledge and information is so important, and means businesses are far more likely to continue. Supporting indies means a stronger local economy and a closer, inclusive community for all.
