Last weekend we took part in Pitt Fest: Handmade 2015. Out on the lawn in front of the Museum of Natural History and the Pitt Rivers Museum, the festival celebrates the creativity and ingenuity represented in the Museum’s collections and offers the chance to get interactive and hands-on with crafts from around the world. Naturally that’s right up our street so we signed up for a stand, and took an Independent Oxford tent to the event.

In the Indie Oxford tent, we were joined by Shop at the Old Fire Station, Petite Fleur, 2 North Parade, Shot at an Angle Photography, Kinship of Oxford and Amy Surman: The Oxford Bead Shop who ran workshops throughout the day.

Take a look at our day in pictures (which included a lot of tastings of 2 North Parade’s local cheese!)

I’m really passionate about Independent Oxford and supporting and promoting independent businesses in Oxfordshire. Indie businesses are the life blood of our towns, cities and communities, but they need support to survive and thrive. Creating a network that provides a space for indies to find peer support, knowledge and information is so important, and means businesses are far more likely to continue. Supporting indies means a stronger local economy and a closer, inclusive community for all.
