Zahra, Director of YWMP, celebrates 20 years in action

Young Women’s Music Project are hosting an anniversary celebration at their base at Makespace Oxford
YWMP (Young Women’s Music Project) is celebrating 20 years of director Zahra Haji Fath Ali Tehrani’s dedication to the project.
The event will include the screening of an original film by Nia Fekri that tells the story of Zahra’s journey as a local musician who joined the project as a teenager.
This will be followed by a conversation between Estella Adeyeri of Big Joanie and Good Night Out Campaign, and Zahra about the Safer Spaces policy that YWMP have been funded by Youth Music to create and wider Safer Spaces work.
The night will be concluded by DJ sets by Estella and YWMP!
This event will also be the first chance to see the refreshed look, feel, and name for the project, alongside the chance to buy some new merchandise. Food will be provided by Dayums.

About YWMP
YWMP is feminism in action. We aim to build a sisterhood of young people by providing an inclusive, non-judgemental, safe space for musical and creative expression.
YWMP provides an inclusive, supportive space in Oxford for young women, trans and non-binary people aged 14-25 years old to get together to make music, learn new skills, express themselves, and grow in confidence. We’re much more than a charity, or a music project: we’re a supportive community.
YWMP has worked with hundreds of young people across Oxfordshire in a range of settings, building partnerships with schools, pupil referral units, hospitals, and organisations working with vulnerable young people.
