Revamped Parsonage Grill Terrace

Parsonage Grill’s terrace has a brand-new look!

Inspired by the famed Jardin Majorelle in Marrakech, the new terrace at Oxford’s five-star Old Parsonage Hotel, a Grade 2* listed building, has undergone a six-week refurbishment and £80,000 investment. It now boasts vibrant colours, brilliant whites, and big-leaved foliage that nod to the Moroccan garden sanctuary once owned by fashion icon Yves Saint Laurent.

The style weaves an exotic éclat through the traditional 17th-century setting.

“Yves Saint Laurent’s visionary use of colour and his love for Moroccan design were a huge inspiration.  I want the Parsonage terrace to feel like an oasis in the centre of the city, just like our other beautiful terraces at Quod and Gees.” – Jeremy Mogford, Founder and Managing Director of The Oxford Collection.

Gone are the dated boxed planters and dark colours. Instead, brightly painted terracotta pots burst with banana plants, hostas, cordylines, and fatsias. The teak furniture and reclaimed York stone paving, meticulously cleaned, complement two brand-new parasols with lighting and heating.

Open from 7 am until 11 pm every day for breakfast, leisurely lunches, afternoon tea, drinks, and dinner, the Parsonage terrace stands as a significant Oxford landmark for the enjoyment of everything ‘food, drink, and conversation’, just as it has done for the past 35 years.

A stylish new cocktail, ‘IT’S ALL ABOUT YVES’, has been created to celebrate the new look.
