** 6-Month Paid Internships **
If you’re 16 – 25 years old and have an interest in working in the creative sector, Oxford Weaving Studio may have the job for you!
Cass is looking to fill two positions, a Marketing Assistant and a Studio Assistant to work in the studio at Makespace in north Oxford for the next 6 months. The roles are for those wanting to find work in the creative sector, may be recent graduates or lacking the experience needed to find a successful placement.
The studio is a relaxed and inspiring place to be and you would be supporting Cass to bring about some exciting changes to growing the business.
The Studio Assistant role will be helping Cass on a day-to-day basis, keeping the studio organised, tidy, helping with orders & deliveries, supporting workshops and more!
The Marketing Assistant will help support Oxford Weaving Studio’s marketing strategy, working on social media, email marketing both on and offline using the Adobe suite, and editing photos & videos.
Textile Design and Marketing & Communication graduates would be ideal, but applications from different backgrounds, areas of study or experience will definitely be considered. If you are enthusiastic, flexible, hard-working, creative and resourceful, please apply.
Training and support is being given by Artswork, and you will learn and develop many skills over the course of your time at Oxford Weaving Studio.
Both are paid internships, working 25 hours/week over 4 days, but be quick, the deadline for applications is this Friday 15th September!
About Artwork and the Breakthrough programme
The Breakthrough programme is a 6-month work placement scheme run by Artswork with training to support your confidence and professionalism in the workplace. Designed as a stepping stone to get you workplace experience and all-important employment skills. This short placement gives you insights into
what a future career in the Creative Industry would be like and helps you make career plans for the future.
The programme is open to any young person between the ages of 16 –25 who has found securing a meaningful job in the arts a challenge, here’s your chance to breakthrough into a career that matters to you!
Oxford Weaving Studio
Oxford Weaving Studio is a creative community studio focusing on weaving. Cass designs & hand weaves products, runs workshops, and sells weaving looms, tools, yarn and kits. The studio is based in Makespace in north Oxford where online orders are packed and posted out, workshops are held, products are woven, videos are recorded, and open studio days are held on weekends. Cass also attends external marketing events and hosts workshops throughout the year to teach and promote the business.
