We recently held our 2nd Independent Oxford event at the Shop at the Old Fire Station – thank you to everyone who came for such a great turn out! We asked another six shops (including our host) to bring along the five items they felt best showed off their collection. This time round OLD MADE, Gilt and Grain, Annie Sloan, Shot at an Angle Photography, Kinship of Oxford joined the Shop at the Old Fire Station.

Our local indies got to chat to customers, tell them the stories behind their businesses and show off their wares as well as chat to each other, natter to bloggers and chin wag with fellow Instagram-ers. Check out the snaps below and keep your eyes peeled for the next one in September.

I’m really passionate about Independent Oxford and supporting and promoting independent businesses in Oxfordshire. Indie businesses are the life blood of our towns, cities and communities, but they need support to survive and thrive. Creating a network that provides a space for indies to find peer support, knowledge and information is so important, and means businesses are far more likely to continue. Supporting indies means a stronger local economy and a closer, inclusive community for all.
