It’s all about you – Make time and space for yourself this Easter the Indie Oxford way
With months of everything being a bit topsy-turvy, we all know that taking time to focus on ourselves and do the things we love is important. While deep down we know this, many of us fail to do it. So, for those who need some me-time or slow living inspiration ahead of the Easter break, here’s a handful of ways to do it the Indie Oxford way…
1. Pamper yourself
Many of us favour a bit of pamper time that involves lotions and potions. Do it Indie Oxford style and make a beeline for Oxford Aromatics; stockist of natural and handmade products. Joy, the owner, sells a wide range of goods for those who like to concoct their own or pour something straight into the bath and surround themselves in bubbles.
For the men who like to pamper themselves (those who admit it and those that don’t!) then take a look at what male grooming lotions and potions Burrows and Hare and Objects of Use have from beard oils to traditional shaving brushes. You’ll be squeaky clean and your beard will be as soft as a kitten!
Want to go even further? Book yourself in for a indulgent treatment at Cannelle Beauty.
2. Learn something new
Learning a new skill or developing an existing one can be very rewarding, and doing it in a group also gives you a chance to meet fabulous new people. Planning things like this in advance also gives you something to look forward to!
Head to the Old Fire Station website, The Oxford Bead Shop and The Annie Sloan Shop for upcoming workshops in Oxford.
3. De-clutter and refresh your space
Your surroundings make a big impact on how you feel so use some time off to think about how you can improve the space around you.
Need some inspiration? Candy Pop’s blog has plenty of tips on living a more minimal life and provides some excellent interior inspiration.
Got a big project? Look to Annie Sloan’s chalk paint to brighten up walls and furniture. Alternatively, make a beeline for Sanders of Oxford for a print to update your walls if you’re not keen on getting your hands dirty!
If you find you’re in need of some new items for the home, head to Fairtrade at St Michaels, Babylon and Indigo for a vast range of home accessories and furniture.
4. Take time out from the world
There’s loads of ways we like to take time out. I’m a hole-yourself-up-with-a-book kinda person. I’d find myself a good new read and then pick up something delicious to devour from Gatineau.
You may want to just grab a cuppa in your favourite café like The Jericho Café or The Handlebar Café and watch the world go by.
If you’re into taking time off-line, check out Candy Pop’s new blog post on The Joy of Spending Time Offline (also see hashtag #enjoytimeoffline for inspiration).
We hope you’ve got an enjoyable Easter break ahead of you and you’re able to carve out some me-time for yourself. Let us know what you get up to using the hashtag #indieoxford!
Much love,
Anna
