Mending workshop – repair and re-wear with Y.O.U Oxford

Mending workshop – Y.O.U Oxford Shop, Covered Market. Thursday 13th July – 5.15-6.45pm.

Tickets £10 – all profits split between the Butterfly Conservation Society and Cheney School’s Greening Project.

Repair and re-wear your clothes in this mending workshop as we encourage you to ‘stitch it not ditch it’!

The most sustainable clothes are the ones you already own, so learning the basics of mending will help prolong the life of your clothes and belongings.

Bring any items that need fixing … from small tears, missing buttons or seams coming undone … and you’ll learn how to fix them in this hands-on session so the items can be worn and loved again! We will also include darning, so don’t forget those holey socks or jumpers!

All ages welcome, no previous skills needed. We will happily teach you to thread a needle or sew on a button!

Please bring your items that need mending and any basic sewing materials and mending fabric you have (e.g. scissors, thread and a needle). We’ll help you by providing a short list of items in advance, but we’ll have some spare buttons, thread and fabric for patches with us too.

Timing – 90 mins, from 5.15pm (grab a drink and join us after work).
Location –
Y.O.U Oxford, The Covered Market, OX1 3DZ (in the central area by the Post Box).
Spaces –
6-8 people, so everyone has the time to get the help and advice they need.
Cost – £10 – all profits going to the Butterfly Conservation Society and Cheney School Greening Project. (Price includes VAT).
