We are turning 19!
In October 2003, we opened for business with stock from a handful of suppliers spread rather thinly over the new shelves, a second-hand till and a small team of enthusiastic volunteers.
We have grown enormously and now hold a wide range of stock from over 70 suppliers, with paid staff and a cumulative turnover of more than £2.25 million – but our vision remains the same – bringing the message of fairtrade to central Oxford.
The last few years have been difficult, to say the least, but we prevail, and we trust that many more Oxford residents and visitors continue to discover our “Aladdin’s Cave” and benefit from the creativity of so many producers across the world.
So, bring a chum who’s not popped by the shop before and join us on Wednesday 26th October, between 6-8pm for a joyous birthday celebration!
Our beautiful boutique will be open for browsing and shopping, and there will be nibbles and wine in the Parish Room upstairs. We are also thrilled to be welcoming Laura Cave, Director of Just Trade, who will share her inspiring tales of fairtrade producers who create the best-selling jewellery we have in-store and online.
