Founded in 2012, Body Politic is a pioneering woman-led charitable organisation that uses hip hop dance and arts to empower individuals and communities. Based in Oxford, we aim to inspire positive social change, challenge inequality, and provide a creative platform for those often marginalised in society.
I founded Body Politic in 2012 because I wanted to create an organisation that opened up real opportunities for people to experience and participate in the arts. From the beginning, the work has been rooted in people. Body Politic places audiences and communities at the heart of everything we do, nurturing meaningful relationships built on trust, care, and collaboration. These relationships don’t just enrich individual lives; they empower collective growth. By centring community, we ensure the impact of our work reaches far beyond the stage, creating lasting social and cultural change.
