ABOUT

Alfonso Gelateria is Summertown’s own artisan gelato food truck! Bringing you an authentic Italian gelato with an ever-changing choice of great flavours.

Lewis and the team’s first shop opened in Dec 2020 right in the heart of Woodstock, in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds. A 5 minute walk from Blenheim. Along with the ever changing ice cream flavours, they also serve coffee, hot chocolate and pastries.

While gelato simply means “Ice-cream” in Italian, everyone knows it is so much more than that. The creamy texture and lasting flavour are characteristics unique to gelato, which is why the word is known all over the world.

There is some fantastic chemistry and science behind what makes gelato so special but mostly it comes down to composition and process. As Alfonso Gelateria is 100% artisan, i.e. made completely from scratch, they can control both those aspects.

They only use fresh ingredients of the highest quality sourced locally and/or sustainably whenever possible, and make their gelato fresh every morning – offering traditional flavours and some exciting alternatives too!

I love being that extra boost of happiness, joy and flavour on a hot summer day, and Oxfordshire is a such a beautiful area and backdrop to it.

Each bottle features a decorative label with a bull skull illustration in a different colour — green, red, orange, purple, and dark brown respectively.
