Fusion Focus 2025: Xeno-space
At DEPOT 25, Xeno-space invites visitors into a shifting, experimental environment where ideas, objects, and sounds collide. Curated by Sunil Shah, and developed with 2024 Focus artists Valerie Asiimwe Amani, Jermaine Francis, and Sunil Shah, Xeno-space challenges traditional notions of knowledge, expertise, market forces, and artistic genius.

Taking inspiration from Sarat Maharaj’s Xeno-epistemics (2002), it creates a space for disobedience, resistance, and activation — a place for “other ways of knowing and ways of knowing otherness.” Featuring works by Marcel Top and Rafael Perez Evans, Xeno-space evolves throughout the event with live interventions, workshops, sonic/visual activations, and a publisher’s bookshop exploring experimental publishing.
