Throughout March, B Corps across the UK are raising  awareness of their vibrant movement and encouraging consumers and businesses alike to  learn more about how B Corps are transforming the economic system. Oxford-based Y.O.U  Underwear, the UK’s highest-scoring B Corp and the highest scoring fashion B Corp in the  world, is teaming up with other local and national B Corp businesses to celebrate and profile  how they go beyond expectations to balance purpose and profit – the focus of this month’s  awareness-raising campaign.

The Y.O.U team is showcasing fellow B Corps in their shop in Oxford’s historic Covered  Market throughout March, and encouraging customers to buy better – better services,  products, food – and of course better underwear.

“B Corp Month is an opportunity for our vast range of certified companies to come together  and jointly shout about why they believe business can be a force for good, and how they  have chosen to follow a path of purpose while building strong businesses. As someone who  lives in Oxford, I’m excited to see what our local B Corps are doing to ‘go beyond’ for the  county.” said Mary Louis-Johnstone, Chair of B Lab UK.

Sarah Jordan, Founder and CEO of Y.O.U Underwear said:

“We have a dynamic small business community in Oxford, and it seemed like a great  opportunity to open up our Y.O.U Oxford shop to showcase our fellow B Corps. Putting  people, planet and purpose over profit is at the heart of what we do, and I want to use every  opportunity I can to show customers that they can do good just by thinking about the  businesses they buy from.

“More than that, we want our shop to continue growing as a sustainability hub for the Oxford  community. We’re so thrilled to share this space and raise awareness of the broader B Corp  movement as part of the #WeGoBeyond campaign.”

Sarah will draw the winner of the raffle  for a selection of the products displayed in our showcase at the end of the month. I’m really passionate about Independent Oxford and supporting and promoting independent businesses in Oxfordshire. Indie businesses are the life blood of our towns, cities and communities, but they need support to survive and thrive. Creating a network that provides a space for indies to find peer support, knowledge and information is so important, and means businesses are far more likely to continue. Supporting indies means a stronger local economy and a closer, inclusive community for all.
