SUMMARY:Cally Trench and Tineke Bruijnzeels: Day after day after day
DESCRIPTION:Daily drawings by the two artists lie at the heart of this exhibition: Tineke Bruijnzeels’ project ‘One more line a day’ using a wide variety of materials and Cally Trench’s ‘Left Hand\, Right Hand’ drawings in ink. DESCRIPTION:Catastrophe has struck at the Mystery Academy: School for Young Detectives! The brilliant Head Teacher – Christie Moyo – has mysteriously disappeared. Have you got what it takes to solve the mystery and find her? \nPrepare to channel your inner super-sleuth as you follow clues\, solve puzzles and attempt to the crack the case at the heart of the latest addition to our Galleries\, Mystery Academy: School for Young Detectives. Opening summer 2026\, this new exhibition celebrates mysteries\, detectives\, sleuths and subterfuge. \nFramed around an original story by award-winning author Sharna Jackson\, step inside the fictional boarding school to solve the mysterious disappearance of the Head Teacher\, or just have fun exploring an inventive exhibition that features a forensics lab\, a library\, and even a hidden door concealed within a bookcase! \nDiscover the history of the detective genre and some favourite characters and authors; from the classics like Sherlock Holmes and Inspector Morse\, to contemporary authors such Robin Stevens’ Murder Most Unladylike\, Mini Grey’s Hermelin and Mark Haddon’s Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time. Plus\, you’ll be able to see exciting objects such as early fingerprint detecting kits and a camera concealed in a waistcoat. \nThe doors of the Mystery Academy: School for Young Detectives will open on Saturday 18 July 2026. Think wonky antennae\, ridiculous legs\, questionable wings\, and plenty of personality. \nThere are no rules\, no artistic standards to meet\, and absolutely no expectation that your bug should resemble anything found in nature. \nThis workshop is for: \n\nPeople who think they’re “not creative”\nLovers of bugs\, nature\, and odd little creatures\nAnyone who wants to get a bit silly and make something with their hands\nFans of upcycling\, scrap materials\, and creative chaos\n\nDuring the session you’ll: \n\nDig through a treasure trove of fabric scraps and craft materials\nCreate your own weird and wonderful bug to take home\nExperiment\, play\, and follow your curiosity\nChat with others (or quietly focus on your creation)\nEnjoy one and a half hours of relaxed\, low-pressure creativity\n\nWhether you make a monstrous moth\, a bodacious beetle\, a crafty caterpillar\, a sloppy snail\, a wicked worm\, or some new unidentified creature\, you’ll leave with a one-of-a-kind bug and the joy of having made something delightfully strange. \nAll materials are provided.
