ABOUT

Conceived in 2012, Jericho Coffee Traders has evolved from the back of a Vespa tricycle into a roastery and a speciality espresso bar in the heart of Oxford. Run by New Zealander James and Devonian wife Lizzie, JCT is now also supplying a number of Oxfordshire’s best cafes and restaurants with their coffee and has an ever expanding list of home and office coffee subscribers.

The Espresso Bar on the High Street in Oxford is a great place to grab a quick coffee and a delicious cake from NOOD or a brownie from PATRON… watch out for the doughnut days!

Check out the interview with Jericho Coffee Traders on the Independent Oxford blog, or watch this video (created in collaboration with Oxford City Council) about how the business started.

Jericho Coffee Traders Oxford

What a vibrant and dynamic city to be part of! We love our place in the lives of the students, tourists and locals who visit us regularly. We also have the great pleasure of working alongside some other inspirational and entrepreneurial thinking business owners as their coffee suppliers. We’re learning all the time! Alongside this we still mobilise our original Vespa trike to caffeinate ball goers at College festivities and pop up at other events such as the Henley Regatta, farmers markets, festivals and weddings.

James & Lizzie Armitage, Owners

Collaborating with Jericho Coffee Traders on a coffee blend to celebrate the launch of my film Mindful Miles: Racing for Wellness has been an incredible experience. We worked closely together to create a blend that reflects both of our tastes. This coffee blend also supports our fundraising efforts, with a portion of each sale contributing to our cause.

I’m an almost daily visitor to the JCT roastery and the friendliness of the team is only surpassed by the taste of the coffee! I’ve followed their journey with awe and cannot wait to enjoy their brand new space and Horse Box in Osney Mead.

We love going to Jericho Coffee Traders, another independent located close to our store in the High St offering great coffees & treats. The café always has a friendly atmosphere, with locally made cakes and freshly ground coffee with seats overlooking some of the best views in Oxford, with the recent welcome addition of doughnuts on offer at the weekend.

– Miri Allen, Owner of Babylon Trading

We love all our indie Oxford suppliers from Hamblin Bread to Bonners Fruit and Veg, they are our building blocks, but seeing as our other great non-alcoholic passion is coffee (witness our very sleek mod bar) we would love to shout out the Jericho Coffee Traders. We love that they roast their own stunning single origin beans and create unique blends. And even better they ensure their business helps support families, farms, charities and coffee cooperatives around the world. Business sustainability in action. Hats off to them!

We love the brilliant Jericho Coffee Traders team and business. They make really delicious coffee, partner with loads of other independent businesses and champion sustainable practices in everything they do. They’re also just wonderfully friendly and warm people!

We owe so much to our friends at Jericho Coffee Traders; not only do they roast incredible coffee, but they’ve been fantastic supporters of Velocity from the beginning. They trusted us with their residential subscriptions from day one, and we’re now also carrying out many of their wholesale deliveries too. They wanted ethical, sustainable delivery and proved their commitment by even allowing us to use the roastery as a hub for one of our bikes. Oh, and their roastery makes for a great meeting place too!

– Will Pepper, Co-Founder & Director of Velocity Cycle Couriers

We love our local coffee supplier, Jericho Coffee Traders. Their coffee is so good we include it on our pudding menu; the Affogato wouldn’t be the same without it!
