DANCE FOR EVERYBODY – WITH BECKY

Modern Art Oxford

ASHKAN SEPAHVAND: SEEKING FOR STORY

Ashkan Sepahvand, artist and Dphil student at the Ruskin School of Art, presents his film, Seeking for Story at Modern Art Oxford.

Seeking for Story is a film about how an archive embodies modes of encounter. The archive contains stories written by Ali Mirdrekvandi, a Luri peasant-labourer, and documents his unexpected friendship with John Hemming, a British lieutenant, during the Allied Occupation of Iran in WW2. Now in the Bodleian Libraries, the archive promises both a curse and a gift.

CLIMATE EMOTIONS WORKSHOP

How do people respond emotionally to the climate and nature crises that is being experienced?

Join the Oxfordshire Climate Cafes team at the OFS Cafe for this 45 minute interactive workshop. Explore a range of climate emotions including grief, fear and anger. Discuss strategies for managing such feelings in daily lives and take away some useful materials afterwards.

CLIMATE CAFE AT COMMON GROUND

The monthly Climate Cafés offer something different from the usual gatherings of people with interests in climate change. The idea behind them is that talking about climate change is really important – but it is often made more difficult by feelings of guilt of not doing enough, or frustration that others are not doing enough. The Climate Café offers a space to talk about climate change and how it is makes people feel, not to talk about what people should be doing.
