Stallholder Focus: The Annie Sloan Shop
The Independent Oxford Christmas Market is back this year on 2nd December at Turl Street Kitchen in Oxford, just under a month away! We’ve got 18 exciting stallholders for you this year, and we’ll be interviewing each of them on the run up to the Market.
Today we’re talking to Lucy Bartlett at The Annie Sloan Shop.
Tell us about The Annie Sloan Shop.
The Annie Sloan Shop is home of the world famous Chalk Paint™ the decorative paint created by Annie Sloan 27 years ago. We sell a range of home wares from paint and plants, to fabrics, furniture and fragrance as well as hosting regular workshops.
Tell us a bit about yourself, your role and what you enjoy most about your job.
I’ve worked for the company for two and a half years. I was previously trained and working as a florist, before taking over the management of the shop. I love the idea of incorporating beautiful houseplants along with all the fabulous Chalk Paint™ palette, Annie’s own fabric range and all the other home wares that we sell. The things I love most about my job are teaching the paint workshops, sourcing furniture and creating window displays!
Describe the gifts you will be selling at the Independent Oxford Christmas Market.
We will have a bit of everything from paint to plants! Perfect little gifts for around Christmas. Everything in the shop is sourced ethically, all our products which are not Annie Sloan are designed to complement the Chalk Paint™ palette.
What’s your favourite product in the range?
I’m pretty obsessed with Annie’s new Chalk Paint™ colour, a soft, warm green, inspired by fields of alliums that Annie saw in Ethiopia, grown by women farmers who are supported by Oxfam’s Ethiopian Seed Project.
