STALLHOLDER FOCUS: ERMANA SKINCARE
With our Independent Oxford Christmas Market just under 2 months away, we can now reveal our awesome line up of traders! Over the coming weeks we will be inviting our indies to tell us a little more about their companies and share the products that they will be selling at the market.
Today Claire Twigge – Molecey from Ermana Skincare talks to us about her business.
Tell us about your business Claire.
Ermana is a range of skincare products made from a blend of botanicals and all things natural.
As many skincare products in today’s market contain some rather questionable ingredients we saw the need to create products that are 100% natural. We do not use parabens, sulphates or any artificial fragrances or colourings. We do not use preservatives, instead we use vitamin E, which naturally preserves our products where necessary, and we do not test on animals.
Ermana oils and balms are made from a rich blend of botanical oils and waxes that are packed with natural vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, omega oils and fatty acids, which are essential to keep the skin hydrated and nourished.
Tell us a bit about yourself, your role and what you enjoy most about your job.
Ermana was created through my interest in Aromatherapy as respite from a hectic work life. I have been a fashion and homewares buyer for many years sourcing and developing products for UK high street retailers. However I have always had an interest in skincare and beauty products.
This obsession began from experimenting with essential oils to create relaxation remedies, face and body oils at home. I immersed myself in all the books and research I could find about natural skin and body care treatment. I gave friends and family products as gifts for birthdays and Christmas and received some great feedback. This encouraged me to learn more about product ingredients and how they affect the skin. I went back to college in my spare time to study anatomy and physiology, aromatherapy and natural skincare.
My sister, Nicola has been my biggest supporter and has continuously encouraged me to keep working towards my dream of developing my own brand, and so Ermana (taken from the Spanish word for sister) seemed like the perfect name.
Now, together with my husband, James, we are working on Ermana with a mission to provide natural, healthy skincare products for people who want to know exactly what they are putting on their body. We make all Ermana products from our kitchen in Great Haseley in Oxfordshire.
I love making products knowing they are completely natural and good for the skin. It’s great when we get feedback from customers saying how much they like the products and how well they work.
Describe the gifts you will be selling at the Independent Oxford Christmas Market.
The products range in price from £8 for our mini balms up to £28 for body oils. We also offer a range of gifts for men and women and for expectant mums ranging from £24-£49.
What’s your favourite product in your range this season?
Our best selling product is our Revive Face Oil which is a luxurious blend of nourishing plant oils packed with natural vitamins, minerals, anti oxidants and omega oils essential to keep skin hydrated and younger looking. Infused with pure essential oils frankincense and lavender which helps slow the appearance of wrinkles and balance the skin. Vitamin E has been added to aid cell regeneration and to boost collagen. Suitable for all skin types and particularly beneficial to dehydrated and sensitive skin
Our comfort balm always proves to be a favourite with customers not only does it smell amazing but it is the most versatile product for areas in need of comfort – face, body and mind. Use on dry skin patches, chapped lips, cracked heels, elbows and knees. Soften rough, dry cuticles and hands.
Massage into your wrists and temples and breathe deeply to benefit from the comforting properties of the essential oil blend. Made from Cocoa, Shea and Coconut butters. Blended with sweet almond oil and beeswax and infused with pure essential oils lavender, geranium and ylang ylang.
We are also looking forward to launching our newest products at the Oxford Indie Christmas Market – our organic comfort hand and body lotion and wash which are a sensual treat for body and mind.
Lastly, what are your favourite indies in Oxford?
Oxford has an amazing range of Indies but our favourites have to be Bicycle Blooms, the artisan flower shop. They offer a fabulous range of flowers and we love their beautiful Instagram posts. Another favourite is Wild Honey for their offering of fresh local produce and essentials . It’s great to see other businesses promoting natural, healthy products.
We are really excited to have Claire at our market this year with her gorgeous range of gifts for Christmas. Our Christmas Market will take place on 2nd December at Turl Street Kitchen. Join us from 10 am – 5 pm for a day packed full of awesome indies and festive fun!
