Yin Yoga & Tea Gathering
108 High St
Join Venetia and Guest Facilitator James Thirlwall for a 3 hour workshop designed to deeply relax and nourish.
Suitable for all levels.
Venetia will lead you through an 80 minute Yin practice, with lots of support & modifications. Yin is a passive style of yoga which targets the connective tissues and subtler elements of the body.
Then, James will lead us through a Tea gathering. Tea gatherings have been used by Zen practitioners for millennia. The meditative simplicity of preparing leaves and water for tea transforms the mundane into the sublime. Just as each asana helps us access a different experience, each tea can have a tangible and distinct effect on our mind, body and spirit. In this tea gathering we will explore a range of wild harvested, organic teas from the camelia sinensis family. A perfect compliment to a yin yoga practice, our tea gathering will be a gateway to meditation where we come together as strangers and leave as friends.
James Thirlwall is a yogi and Chinese medicine practitioner who specialises in the energetics of tea and tea rituals. He is founder of The Oxford Acupuncture Clinic and Chayou Tea House – rated by the Guardian as the ‘#1 place in the UK to experience a new tea revolution’.
