10 Events from Oxford Indies This August 2020
As more businesses return to a more normal way of trading, August’s Independent Oxford events round up combines some great ideas for those hankering to get out and about, alongside some innovative online activities to keep you entertained from the comfort of your sofa.

ARTS, CRAFTS & CULTURE
Saturday 1st August: Open Air Comedy at the Oxford Artisan Distillery – An open air comedy show with award winning stand-up comedians, pizza and gin!
Saturday 1st August onwards: Picnic at the Palace – capturing the festival spirit with live music, great cocktails, a knock-out location and hampers of delicious local food, Midsummer Nightcap host an awesome line up that goes some way to filling that festival hole.
Tuesday 11th August – 1st September: African Treasury: Celebrating Sub-Saharan Sculpture – Fusion Arts presents a series of lectures exploring the rich history of sculpture from across Africa.
Thursday 13th August: Online singing workshop with Becki Reed & Open Stage Arts – Join music director Becki Reed in a fun and exciting vocal online workshop and explore ways to sing together over zoom. Great for wellbeing and connecting with a welcoming and nurturing group.
Saturday 15th August: SuperDuo Mandala Pendant Tutorial with Amy Surman – Learn how to use SuperDuo Beads, seed beads, crystals, and a needle and thread to create a beautiful pendant. This is a zoom workshop held by Amy.

FITNESS & WELLBEING
Saturday 22nd August: Flow & Replenish – Join Ajaye & Alexa from The Project PT for a full morning of Yoga and Replenishment in Florence Park, including replenishing treats, forest yoga and nourishing Buddha bowls.

FOOD & DRINK
Friday 31st July: Zoom Wine Tasting with Grape Minds – try Marques de Murrieta Capellania Blanco and Reserva Tinto 2015 on zoom with the winery!
Saturday 1st & 8th August: Cranston Pickles at Tap Social – now that the Tap Social Tap Room is back open, they also have a great selection of food traders lined up including Fiona at Cranston Pickles.

KIDS
Through out August: House of Fun Acitivity Camps – House of Fun holiday camps are Ofsted registered, popular, fun-filled, family-run camps created and run by experienced, enthusiastic teachers. Whilst creating unforgettable experiences for kids, they will be adhering to the current government guidelines regarding holiday camps to keep your children safe.

BUSINESS SUPPORT
Thursday 30th July: Indie Oxford Meet Up: Crowdfunding for Your Business – We chat to Tom Jowett from the Ultimate Picture Palace about their successful Crowd Funder, sharing tips and experiences for anyone thinking of creating their own Crowdfunding campaign. Indie Oxford members can join for free.
